Syracuse, N.Y. — Kaleb Joseph acknowledged that fear of failure stalked him last season. Then a freshman point guard inserted into a starting role and expected to guide the Syracuse basketball team, he was at times overwhelmed with his new responsibilities. Joseph, now a sophomore, averaged six points on 38 percent shooting as an Orange rookie. He accumulated 119 assists against 72 turnovers. He started 30 of 31 Syracuse basketball games.
